Media evaluation Question 7.
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression form it to the full product?
Question 7
This is the video of me explaining how my skills have improved from the preliminary task, to the original movie.
Question 5
This video shows the feedback from a person who watched my film opening.
During the editing of my film, I got a feedback from my teacher. This helped me a lot, because it made my film better, and without those small mistakes. It helped me to appeal to the audience much better, because I didn't have those small gaps in between my scenes, as I had before, so the feedback really helped me.
As to the question of how I reached my audience, I already had a screening in cinema, sort of like premiere. The video is also on vimeo, and I am planning to put it on facebook, so people get the opportunity to share my film. Also the good idea, would be advertising, on buses and on the streets, taking into account that the most likely production to distribute my film would be Coffee Productions, which is British company.

Evaluation-Question 4
This scrapbook shows more specific audience for my sub genre. I said, that it is 16 to 35, by the fact that it is full of action, which younger generations like a lot, and also it is a psychological thriller, which makes you think about what's going on, which I think an older person would really enjoy in the film.
In our psychological thriller, the Unique Selling Point is the fact that the girl running in the wood is schizophrenic, but the audience doesn't know that. This is really attractive, for the audiences that like films with a little twist in it, and I think it would be attractive for older people watching it.

Evaluation-question 1
In our film opening, we used the convention of a female being the one in trouble. This is a stereotype used to make the audience believe that the woman is weak and that she will suffer. This convention is used in a film called "what lies beneath". This clip is of a part of this film, which shows part of her being attacked in her bathroom.
We used the same convention, only in different situation. In our film, the girl looks much younger, which suggests that she is more energetic then the woman from "what lies beneath". The girl is running through the forest, and she looks really scared, but the audience doesn't know why. This follows the convention, because the audience may think that she is exaggerating. The location of the forest is also a convention in films, because she is shown alone there, no one is there to help her and therefore bad things can happen to her. Her heavy breathing also indicates that she is in trouble.
Titles have its conventions as well, because from credits you can tell the genre of the film e.g. red credits for horror.
There is also a sequence that we followed in our film as well. It is important to put the titles in the correct order, so the audience knows the importance of those people. In our film, the titles are white with the background of the wood. You see the titles as the girl runs as well. In my opinion this is the convention for psychological thriller, because white can be compared to a calm atmosphere which you see in hospitals.

Media evaluation Question 4
Who would be the audience for your media product?
In general our target audience for our thriller were young people between the age 15-25. This is because the main characters are aged between 16-18 attracting the younger block of our target audience (15-20). But due to the sub genre being a phsycological thriller it will attract the older block of our target audience (20-25).
Below i carried out some research and i asked people aged 15-25 if they will be interested in watching the film.
Kazim Bas's response (male age 23) - Seems interesting, looks like something that i will go watch with friends.
Damian West (male aged 15) - "Not to keen on the film, looks boring"
Kate Goldstein (female aged 19) - "looks very interesting i would like to check it out"
Below is the statistics of the question is asked to 25 people
Would you be interested in watching this
Yes 56%
No 16%
Maybe 28%

In what ways does your media product use develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products ?
Media studies Evaluation - Question 1
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Films openings often have the same or similar conventions, which consist of these elements;
*Opening Sequence
*Title sequence
*Production company logo
*Production distribution logo
Not all film openings use these elements but in our thriller we have used them.
*Opening sequence
Our opening sequence is similar to the movie "Shrooms" where there is a person running through the forest. Below is the screen grabs i have taken from youtube and vimeo.
Shrooms opening Our opening:
*Title sequence
For our title sequence we compared many Film openings such as Se7en and Physco but in the end we chose to make a simple white coloured title on a solid background that can stand out and look professional. Below is a screen grab of our title sequence.
*Production Company logo - An image of our Production company logo:
*Production Distribution name - An image of Production distribution name on out opening sequence:

Rough Cut Of Film
This is our rough copy of our film and we have worked really hard to get on track with our work. Our original footage was too dark for use so we had to go out and film again.
Things to do: 1) go through frame by frame to tighten the edit
2) Shorten long clips
3) Sort out the continuity edit error with the close up.
4) lengthen jumping over log clip.
5) Add titles and transitions
