Target audience is the group of people that the film is appealing to. For example cartoon adventure films will be aimed at families because it appeals to young children aged 3-10 who cannot go to the cinema on their own so instead they will go as a family. The movies poster can also identify the target audience.
Another example is the film Adulthood. The film is about London’s teenagers and is showing what teenagers life’s are like and what a struggle is it. This film is aimed at mainly male teenagers (aged 15-25) that live in a big city, the reason for this is because the characters in the film are aged 21-22 and the film is certified a 15 making is possible for young people to see. And the film is set in a big city (London). The film also contains violence strong language and scenes of sexual nature; making is more appealing for males rather than females. Furthermore on the poster for Adulthood it has an image of 8 teenagers male and female dressed up in tracksuits and hoodies, this also makes it appealing for teenagers because they are dressed up how most teenagers in London would dress up.
